Sherri Meshke Rae
In September 2019, Sherri became the new owner of Hillsboro Learning Center, a well-established tutoring business located in the heart of historic downtown Hillsboro.
Since taking ownership of the business, she has maintained and improved the tutoring portion of the business and has also created a new early learning environment within the tutoring business in order to share her knowledge and experience with teaching preschool and kindergarten aged children.
She has also been actively networking with local businesses to provide early childhood educational opportunities for the children and families in Hillsboro and the surrounding area.
She collaborates with Balance Fitness, NW Charter Schools and the homeschooling community to offer shared clientele discounts for educational services and support. (If you are a local business in our community let us know how we can connect with you to create offers for shared clientele!)
Experience
She has over 20+ years of experience as an owner and operator of a family child care home and is also the past Founder/Owner/Director of Misty Mountain Learning Center, a Montessori-based early childhood education environment located in Puyallup, Washington.
In 2010 Sherri sold her preschool business in WA and moved to Hillsboro, Oregon.
Prior to purchasing Hillsboro Learning Center, she enjoyed many different roles in OR as a Nanny, Early Childhood Educator/Tutor, Early Childhood Home Environment Organizer; and as a Consultant & Curriculum Specialist for Child Care and Preschool businesses in the Hillsboro community.
Credentials
She graduated from the University of Idaho where she received her BS in Elementary Education with minors in Child Development and Social Science. In addition to her teaching degree she obtained her Montessori Certification for teaching preschoolers aged 3 - 6.
She also received a Step 10 recognition with the Oregon Registry, which is a statewide program that recognizes professional development and achievements for people who work with children.
Sherri enjoys beading/jewelry making, cooking, gardening/canning, photography, photo scrapbooking, professional development trainings, reading, yoga, camping, hiking, traveling and attending local events and festivals with her husband, Steve.
She is the mother of two grown daughters and became a grandmother to her first grandson in November 2017!
Extras
Sherri is CPR/First Aid certified and has obtained an Oregon and Federal Comprehensive Criminal Background Check.

We are located at the Faber Building, through an exterior entrance, on the corner of SE 3rd Ave. and Washington St. We are kiddie corner from the Max Transit Center in the heart of historic downtown Hillsboro.
Convenient parking is available on-site!
If the front lot is full, there is also parking behind our building in the back lot or along 3rd Ave.
